“Studying at GUS® for the College & Professional Intensive was one of the best experiences of my life! Not only did I learn so much, but I made friends for life! Getting to dance all day with incredible faculty and incredible dancers is such a rewarding learning experience. You are connected with people with real experience from the industry. There are also so many opportunities to perform at the end of the intensive! We got to be in so many incredible works! The staff works so hard to make everyone feel welcome and to make sure everyone is staying healthy and happy, and as Amy Giordano told us on our first day, everything in moderation! So we spent our days off exploring the city and experiencing Chicago, which was so fun! The staff is super great with helping us learn how to get around the city and giving us recommendations on the bast places to go eat or visit. I love that it is a family owned business and all the faculty are so knowledgeable and kind. The intensive is an amazing experience for any dancer on the professional track because you are introduced to so many amazing teachers and choreographers in a month. All these choreographers are working professionals and know how to push you in the right way to help you improve. We have trained in a broad range of styles including jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, heels, and even tricks/turns classes. The studio itself is absolutely gorgeous and extremely well kept/very clean. Everything is so organized and there is great communication which I love. “As a dancer, the College & Professional Intensive at Gus Giordano Dance School was one of my favorite things I have ever done. Taking class with dancers that were trained directly by Gus was an experience I can't quite describe. I left each class recognizing both a strength and a weakness that they encouraged me to hone. They preached that as jazz dancers, we "can not only be just dancers, but we must be performers." With a goal of becoming a Broadway dancer, this was music to my ears and the perfect intensive for me. The College & Professional Intensive encompasses training that pushes dancers to be the total package I have gained a tremendous amount of information about not only the Chicago dance scene, but the dance world as a whole.
